Wood storks, blue herons, sand cranes, great egrets and snowy egrets. It's not in the picture but we've also had an occasional roseate spoonbill!

It's more of a wetland with a small pond that has formed over time. It will almost dry up with no rain and then gets about 3' deep with heavy rain. There are also small birds all the time, a couple of otters and a few small gators out there.

Fantastic Photo! We have the Blue Heron around our lake here in Northern Michigan. I love going there and watching them all summer long. Where abouts do you live if I may ask?

200 miles north. We're east of Orlando along the St. John's River.

I have been talking to a couple of friends who have asked me to move down that way and it is very tempting. They are about 35 miles east of the Gulf and more in the middle of the state. No gators there and they are sending me some applications for a place to stay.
It is tempting as I am tired of the cold and I want to be able to do some fishing in the ocean.
