She's called Meg and she's about a year and a half now - just about still a kitten!

Not now. I have a guinea pig(Dora) & sometimes they and cats don't get along. I used to take care of several neighbor's cats when they went away, but unfortunately, all of those neighbors have moved, so no more kittysitting, which makes me sad.

That is sad, a friend of mine catsits and he loves it - I hope that you can get back to it again sometime.

Me too. I think fewer people in my apartment building has cats now. There used to be a lot of cat people, but so many new folks have moved in & none of them have cats.

That's a shame, my friend says that he doesn't want to own a cat at the moment but is very happy to look after others until he decides to get one again. It gives the owners such peace of mind while they are away.

Your friend sounds like a person. I bet the cats he cares for enjoy having him there. When I kittysat, I'd spend hours there playing with, talking to & sketching the ones I was taking care of. They all seemed to like it.

He says that they were shy towards him at first but now they love him and are so friendly. That's great that you could sketch them, it gives you some lovely memories of the cats - you must be talented, I am dreadful at art!

Tell your friend to find an old shoestring & let it hang to the floor when he's sitting. The cats can't resist checking it out & then they begin to play.
You can see some of my animal art in my GT photo album. Cats make good sketch subjects because they take naps a lot & they don't move a lot when they are snoozing.

That's a great idea, he has a new client next week so it would be a great way to get the cats to like him - can't wait to check our your art, so true about cats sleeping so much!
