Re: Birdhouse Hubby Built for Me
That does not look like a 'first'. That looks like it could be the centerfold for "Better Birdhouses & Gardens". That is spectacular woodwork. How much $? (I see a side business here ... ) Grinning

Re: Birdhouse Hubby Built for Me
Thank you...actually, he has been asked to make them until they find out the price, not realizing how much goes into them. For those he made for his daughters and my daughter and me, he already had roofing on hand but to replace it would cost too much. Plus wood is expensive and labor doesn't count for much. He figured if he sold them he would be making $3 an hour. He has one sale from someone who said they didn't care how much it cost but those are few and far between. The shipping alone cost a fortune. We were shocked. But for now it keeps him out of trouble and he enjoys it. He wants to come up with new ideas. Next try may be an old "filling station."

and Scheherizade, actually, it wasn't a first. He experimented first on a small one that I had posted on here. Thank you for your gracious comment!

Re: Birdhouse Hubby Built for Me
If I could afford something so unique, I would order one. It looks like it Should cost a nice chunk of change, because it truly is beautiful. People able to use their hands to create such beauty are most definitely blessed, in my book. Smiling

Re: Birdhouse Hubby Built for Me
I'd like a small one...too difficult to clean a big one! But one with windows for plants, plants and more plants. And i like your idea of a loft!

Re: Birdhouse Hubby Built for Me
i meant big compared to the bird feeder, but i samll log home compared to normal homes. The loft would house spare bed for company.
The main level would be one big open room for kitchen/living combo, then a bedroom and bath (maybe also a 1/2 bath for guest to use).
But it would look like the bird feeder your hubby made Smiling
