Impressive arcatecher, the chairs look so small in such a grand place. Do you know what year it was built?

I think they have benches and chairs added on the end of each side.

Just googled it. Built in 1093.

@ 1st glance it reminded me of the shot of 'Dorothy, the cowardly lion, scarecrow etc.' on their way to see 'the Wizard'!

OH I gotcha.....And the wizard is the little guy behind the (I think it was an organ).....I feel the idea of this church 'humbling' Its patrons...Is actually the same, its gorgeous, a trip here for many was probably a huge task,and my word its a fantastic building in my modern eyes, to those using the technology of the time.....mind blowing!!!....captured in a great photo!!!!

Exactly!

What an honor for us to be able to view this incredible place, even in a picture. The architecture is beyond my wildest dreams. To be able to travel & actually 'be' in the Durham Cathedral... I can't imagine. I'm overwhelmed.
