Re: Weird Mushroom growing in my yard

What species of mushroom is this? Let it grow and maybe it can create more of these for you. A golf club attack is not apropriate.

Re: Weird Mushroom growing in my yard

Please do not run these 3 over with a lawnmower. Put some kind of protection around these 3 so the lawnmower will not hurt them. Can you make a photo of all 3 of them?

Why do you want to protect them?

Re: Weird Mushroom growing in my yard
Why are mushrooms good for the environment?
Mushrooms and mycelium are an essential part of the planet's ecosystem and the life cycle as they recycle nutrients, keeping forests healthy. ... But Mycelium can not only decompose plants, but also complex chemicals. This means that it can be used up to clean up oil spills and other types of soil or water contamination.

I thought the golf club comment was hilarious!

Maybe you can transplant them? Mowing them just might make them multiply.....

Re: Weird Mushroom growing in my yard
If you leave them for too long, they will release spores, which will lead to more mushrooms. THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT! You can also try mowing or raking over the mushrooms. This will heighten the chances of them spreading spores across your lawn. REMOVING A MUSHROOM AND TRANSPLANTING IT WILL KILL IT, SO DON'T DO THAT.
