For multi-player games

To win the game, a player needs to place all tiles in the hand to the board. As soon as someone manages to do this, the game is over and this player is a winner. Placement of the remaining players is decided by the value of tiles left in their hands - each numbered card incurs as many penalty points as its number is, while Jokers incur 30 penalty points.

But why do you get a Penalty.?

Hi, I seem to remember on bug reports a question on scoring on these games. It emerged that penalty points were applied in some circumstances but these were never shown anywhere which made understanding why someone had won in a tournament in some circumstances impossible. Apologies for the vague description! However the suggested improvement was to show the penalty points. So it's not that they weren't there before,, rather you are seeing them for the first time.

there has always been a penalty, but only recently shown. Only really applies in 100 & 500 pts games

This was a game of straight Rummicub. It came up as follows at the end:

14 tiles left, score 25, penalty 88

When did the penalty start coming in. I went out and this was listed in my opponents game. They did not get down. I never remember a penalty before. Thanks for any explanation.
