I have been playing Animosity tournament games for weeks now.
All of a sudden my games were timing out within 24 hours. They are suppose to be 3 day timeouts. After I move my opponent has 3 days. After they move I have less than 24 hours. Why is this happening?

It does ask and I set it for 100, 6, and 6 for the 3 games. It ignored that.
100 points is not even an option in the non-Diceman games. 15 is the highest possible.

That's weird, I'm sure that was fixed a while ago. I'm certain the system asks you now for separate "points" for diceman and non-diceman tourneys.
I've never included diceman in the Olympics, but that's because of the bug in diceman that makes the games continue beyond the max number of points. Was that one ever fixed? I have to ask because Mecir fixes bugs, he's very good at that, but he keeps it a secret and never tells us when it is done.

An old glitch has reappeared that I can't fix in The Word O'Rama Mid Autumn Words Only Tourney for The Word O'Rama Club. I tried to get either the 2 games affected to be fixed or removed but to no avail.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Apparently, when Hanging Diceman is included with regular and Kickback Hangman games in a tourney, the regular games pick up the 100 points required to win instead of my selected 4 or 6 points. That would lead to an incredibly long tourney, where the winner has to get 100 words or phrases.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Unless players want to play in games that will go on for a Very, VERY long time, I strongly urge you Not to include any other Hangman games if you are going to include Hanging Diceman in your tourneys until this is fixed.
Now I see that it has appeared in The November24 wikiless Turkey Tournament for the The Friendship Club. I have written to the creator of the tourney to make her aware of the issue, but I thought I'd post it here to see if it can be fixed.

(#5643370) Still getting a silver token for losing
Posted by Big Giant Head on 4 Nov 2024 at 9:54PM
Fire Spiller Tourne Case Partners is still incorrectly awarding silver tokens to the losers. The notification I received says I lost the game (which I did) but also says I was awarded a silver token.
There are two teams in this game, one wins and one loses, The only way you should be able to get a silver token is if you agree to a draw.

Hey there!
If I remember correctly, I asked Mecir to remove the highlight from your previous move, that way you only had to look at the highlighted squares to determine where you couldn't make a move instead of re-interpretting the board each turn.

No need to end the game. Make your other moves, but skip the pawn moves. It will let you end your move, as if there are no pawns on the board.

I don't play dice chess, I just read the rules. In the rules it says:
Pawn moves are mandatory if possible. This implies that if the dice do not roll a pawn, or if no pawn is able to move, the player can skip the move entirely.
In your case Pawn moves are NOT possible, I guess you must skip the move? If that's so, my condolences

Perpetual Checks
If a player keeps his or her opponent in the state of a perpetual check such that the same position is repeated three times on the board during which the opponent is in check for each of his or her moves, the initiator of the perpetual check loses the game. This does not apply if there is at least one turn during which the opponent is not in check - the counter is reset in that case. The position was repeated with checks on moves 30-34 (black). This should now be fixed.
What happened is that several turns earlier, the Sandstorm card was errorneously used to move an arrow square to under the starting location, hiding it there. This should no longer be possible.

Looking again I was wrong. Itwas move 35 thats wrong, the 6-7 should have satisfied the double 6, but was put on mine instead.
Can the game at least be rolled back to move 35 and the bone placed correctly?
I'm reluctant to play on an already broken tournament game

Yes it went wrong after move 35, oddly enough booth trains ended with a 6 then.
As you say, there was a double 6 that had to be satisfied, so imc unsure when another bone was added to my train, it's too hard to tell now.
Looking again move 38 is where the error occurred, a 3-5 was played so wilsoni's train should end in a 3, but the bone is wrong way round and says it ends in a 5

(#5639007) Multipoint Fire Spiller games
Posted by Big Giant Head on 20 Oct 2024 at 9:31AM
I don't think this is a bug, as it appears the game is playing according to the rules, but I'm not sure it is what was intended.
I'm in a few multipoint Fire Spiller games where players have timed out, essentially making them two player games. That means each victory is now only worth one point as you score one point 'for each of their opponents still on the board' and there is only one other person still in play. In the normal game you would score 3 points at this point.
Would it make sense for the players to score 3 and 2 points respectively, rather than 1 and 0, to stop games becoming interminably long?

It's been a while since I've played, so I could be wrong, but I think it starts to go wrong around turn 34. Jools train ends in a 7, wilsoni in a 6.
Turn 35, Jools plays a double 6 on wilsoni's train, causing a graphic overlap with his own train. Then on wilson's turn 35, they draw and play a 6-7 which I believe they should only have been able to play on the double 6 as Jools' train was not marked, but it is placed as though it has been played on Jools' train and shows it as now ending in a 6. Jools' next play is on turn 38 when they play a 5-6 on wilsoni's train which appears to update correctly although the graphics are still a mess. Sassy_Angel then somehow manages to play a 3-5 with the 3 adjoining the 5 on wilson's train, but updating Jools' train ending to a 5. wilsoni is then able to play a 5-8 on to their own train but I think at this point it should be ending in a 3 and therefore unplayable with that tile.

Perhaps not. I forgot to say I checked the other games of GoldiLocks. All ended in timeout, but no other game had this double timeout. This could possibly be a result of the timeout condition and something specific that happened on the board at the same time.

Very weird, better have Mecir take a look. There's no urgency, The game is finished anyway.
What's wrong:
What's wrong:
- Road Runner's move list wrongly states "timeout"
- The game states "The game has ended in a draw" although only White (GoldiLocks) name is in strike-through
- The tournament seems OK: https://www.goldtoken.com/games/tournaments?st=226683 , Round 1 Section 1 gives the game (#28) as a win to Road Runner, the point count is correct.
- The history list of both players list this game correctly as a win for Road Runner.

IN an Olympic tournament game #14380900 My opponent timed out due to exceeding 60 days. But instead of giving me a win, it immediately gave me a timeout also, even though I had time left for both the next move and all moves, and put the game as a draw. I should have been credited with a win.

I have seen these bugs reported several times. So it's still active:
- the game doesn't stop when the "required" number of points is reached by someone. This happens very often.
- a word or phrase is accorded to both players: less often but still happens.
- I put "required" in quotes because this aspect of the game is not in the rules. You have explanation of how points are added/subtracted but it says nowhere that the object of the game is to reach a certain number of points.

(#5623617) Dice Paper Hockey Bug in Olympic Game
Posted by (steelbound) on 13 Aug 2024 at 3:11AM
Hello, I was surprised to see Dice Paper Hockey in the Summer Olympics because I remember it being placed on a list of games not to be used for the Olympics because of it's unresolved bugs. Those unresolved bugs are not the reason for this post - though I wish they'd get fixed as well - I discovered a new bug for this game.
To fix an earlier issue where the person playing purple could not end their turn on their purple players (at points P3 and P7) but the person playing yellow could end their turn on their yellow players (at points F3 and F7), 2 years ago this rule was added, "Passing the puck to a player of your own color still grants an additional move, but other bonuses from the abse game do not apply." I remember a number of players, included myself, tested this out but since this was supposed to fix an issue with purple, apparently we never tested for the yellow players. Turns out, the yellow players at points P3 and P7 are not giving the extra +1 move they should be to the player playing yellow.
In #14412344 move #14 , I rolled a 2 and was not granted my +1 when I landed on my player at F7 and then again on #14412344 move #22 , I rolled a 3 and was not granted my +1 when I passed through my player at F3. Then in the next move, move 23, my opponent ended at point G4. I rolled a 1 which should have allowed me to go back to F3 and then the +1 would allow me to move to E2; but, that is not was happened, the game acted like I had no legal move and awarded my opponent with an erroneous point.
And yes, the purple players (at points P3 and P7) are correctly giving a +1 to the person playing purple.
This bug is only giving the person playing yellow a disadvantage.

Hello!
In game #14381546 (turn 46) I rolled a 5 and should not be able to move my poiece in position 9->4, but I think the game allows it because the win positions are not "set". I think this can break the game if I make the move, so I will continue without making it, but wanted to let you know of that possibility. Thanks!

Thanks for taking this up. Yes, this was my game and not the only time it happened recently. Most definitely a game must be over when a player cannot move. These are in the official international tournament rules and always have been the case.
In this game I had to continue to move in order not to time out. I closed it the win in a different manner. Of course this is not normal to have several turns at once!
Hoping we can make some progress on this.

One exception: in 12 men it (often) happens that both players position all their pieces on the board, without any piece being taken. The board is then filled, and game is then ended in draw.

Posted by T-Rex on 24 Jun 2024 at 8:15AM
I have just found a serious bug in Nine Men's Morris.
When a player is unable to move because they have no legal move available, GoldToken wrongly gives them a pass and they simply lose a turn, as in Backgammon.
According to the rules of the game, however, the player who cannot move should lose the game and the other player should be declared the winner, as in Checkers.
Here are a couple of references to back up what I am asking for:
«A player wins by reducing the opponent to two men (whereupon they can no longer form mills and thus are unable to win) or by leaving them without a legal move.» —Wikipaedia, Nine men's morris (under Rules)
«The game is finished when a player loses either by being reduced to two pieces or by being unable to move.» —mastersofgames.com/rules/morris-rules.htm (under Basic Play)
GoldToken has always prided itself on getting the rules right.
I hope this problem can soon be fixed.

I have played 2 games so far. one goat, one tiger.
Funny, when I first read the rules and thought about it 5 minutes, I came to the exact opposite conclusion: the goats are the winners. Sufficient to cling to the rim of the field and place a goat in a corner whenever a tiger leaves it, the tigers will finish by being squeezed in.
Note that there are 20 goats, 4 tigers and 25 squares so when all the goats are placed the will be at least one unoccupied square somewhere.
Of course, I was very wrong, as are you. It seems I was "wronger": the tigers really seem to have it easier. But the game is not trivial at all. I'd like to explore it further when I find the time.
This should go to the game board Bagh-Chal.

The Goats
There is a total of 20 Goats, which are initially off the board. During each turn, the player of the Goats can place one goat to any vacant square on the board. The Goats already on the board cannot move during the placement stage. After all the Goats have been placed, the player can then move one Goat by one square along the drawn lines each turn.

The Goats win by blocking off the Tigers in a way such that they cannot make any legal move.

Posted by oldog on 16 Jun 2024 at 12:06AM
For my second turn, I posted the word ‘radio’, vertically on the board using a blank for the ‘r’.
The ‘o’ in radio ended beside the ‘d’ in dust, mading the word ‘do’.
When I went to save it, I didn’t get the save optIon, so I hit reload, and it reloqded, ended my turn,
but didn’t save my move, and won’t allow me to re-do the move.
Thanks for your help.

Not sure that it was a DB bug, Patty. I think it might affect the clock within games too.
This DB is still affected. Look at this copy-and-paste of my earlier post and note the time differences.

I noticed that the clock seemed to be seven hour slow for me. I am in Central Daylight Time, or Romeo Time, now. According to Time And Date 'tis now 1351R.
1413R here now.

More "fun". I noticed at least one game with its time showing as seven hours ahead of my time rather than seven hours behind my time.

I agree that it is not serious.
Another odd thing is that when I go to the link for the finished game the right time shows while the wrong time shows attached to the message telling me about the lost game. See below the line.

Yes, odd, but not serious. We'll just have to wait until one of those 2 games finishes.

As a note, some of the posts seem to have a time in the future, so you'll be seeing them as unread until the real time catches up.

a bit odd, that normally happens when you have a chance of also winning, but you need 6 pts from 2 games

sallyp won the game on move 37, then I finished second on move 46. Trsm149 resigned on move which should have ended the game. Instead, it has restarted with three active players.
