He was such a character and personality but I had no idea how to explain what he was to my 26 year old nephew. The best I could come up with was "baseball comedian." 
There's just no modern equivalent. He was so many things. And people forget that he played the father on a successful sitcom, Mr. Belvedere. He was one of a kind.
