This is a fun board for planned and unplanned contests and games. There will be prizes of Golderos, tokens, or a personal token picked especially for you from me in some instances. You might even get your name up on this very board! Smiling

Players will only be eligible to win a prize after 2 contests, instead of 1, unless otherwise specified, ie..if you've won a contest, you will have to wait to enter until 2 have been run and won. *Random contests where guesses are posted on the board will change to 2 guesses allowed, per day, so other players will also have a better chance at having access to the contests. One entry for voting contests, please. Please Note: Repeat entries will not be used. Thank you for your understanding of these guidelines. Offering flower.

There will not be a lot of rules but I do ask PLEASE do not solicit votes from other members and PLEASE click *REPLY on the last entry entered instead of posting a new comment to help keep the board in order.* Thank you

In case of repeat entries, the first entry will be used. Tokens you can win are randomly picked unless otherwise specified by the host.

Happy St Pat's Day! St Paddys Dance Hope you're wearing green!

Remember those "old wives tales" you've heard all your life? Some you live by and some outlandish?

"Chewing Gum Stays in Your Stomach 7 Years"
"Coffee Will Stunt Your Growth"
"Pull Out a Gray Hair and Two More Will Grow In"
"A Bird in the House Means a Death" Sad

..and the list goes on and on...

Our grandparents and parents all told them. And...me too!
Whether outlandish, valid, funny or possibly dangerous, well, there's a lot out there, waiting on new generations!

What is your favorite? For voting purposes, please just add the one "saying" but you can elaborate if you'd like.

Twin beds are correct!

Censors wouldn't allow married couples to sleep in the same bed as they feared it would scandalize viewers. However, some of the first to sleep in the same bed were:

The Munsters
Fred and Wilma Flintstone LOL

One of the first sitcoms to allow married couples in the same bed was The Brady Bunch! (however, let it be noted, a toilet was never shown in the bathroom.) Dizzy

Posted by LittleTree on 14 Dec 2024 at 5:20PM

If you press down on the CTRL key while scrolling down on your mouse, you can see the image much better. Zoom in.

You are supposed to see a cat or a moose, depending on if you're left or right brained.

"Sharing the bizarre picture on Twitter, one man wrote: “Depending on how your brain works, (left or right brain) you'll either see a cat or a moose in this pattern."

Whatever animal you see isn’t part of the image, it’s just an optical illusion created by your own brain."

Well, my brain couldn't create a moose for the life of me!! I did see a cat. I could also see where an eagle, owl or fox might be seen as posted by some. Look closer by zooming in and you might see a picture of a cartoon like cat head in the middle of the cat's forehead. Or if it just me? Dizzy

A cat, the features aren't quite right for a big cat like a lion.
The human brain has developed to see such things as theeat avoidance. To then look in more detail to assess whether you are going to get eaten or not. In this case that threat seems unlikely

...and eliphont551 has the correct answer Happy Dancer with Baby, Don't Go by Sunny and Cher!

Baby, don't go
Pretty baby, please don't go
I never had a mother
I hardly knew my dad
I've been in town for 18 years
And you're the only boy I've had
I can't stay
Maybe I'll be back some day
Baby, don't go
Pretty baby, please don't go
I love you so
Pretty baby, please don't go
I never had no money
I bought at the second hand store
The way this old town laughs at me
I just can't take it no more
I can't stay
I'm gonna be a lady some day
Baby, don't go
Pretty baby, please don't go
I love you so
Pretty baby, please don't go
When I get to the city
My tears will all be dried
My eyes will look so pretty
No one's gonna know I cried
Yes I'm goin' away
Maybe I'll be back some day
Baby, don't go
Maybe I'll be back someday
Baby, don't go
Maybe I'll be back someday

Loved their songs!

Thanks for playing, guys! eliphont551, your choice of a Pony Up token to be placed by the magic token fairy! Grinning
