(#5680118) Peanut Butter
Posted by Callie on 9 Apr 2025 at 7:46PM
Growing up, my mom always warned me: “Never eat peanut butter off a spoon—put it on bread!” Naturally, I ignored her for the next fifty years.
Then one fateful day, while scraping the last stubborn bits from a nearly empty jar, I went full rebel and ate it straight off the spoon. Bad idea. I choked. Not the “cough and clear your throat” kind—I’m talking full-blown, peanut-butter-glued-my-throat-shut kind of choking.
I tried water. Nope. Tried the self-Heimlich. Nada. Pure panic set in.
In a moment of MacGyver level desperation, I grabbed a chopstick, tilted my head back, and started poking at the peanut butter. Miraculously, it worked.
I now enjoy my peanut butter the way God intended: safely smeared on bread—with a healthy dose of respect…and fear
