I see you're referring to a Banner Boulevard banner.
Lloyd must have done it.

Do you know the movie, the shining? Jack Nicholson stars as a total freak case in it, and he goes through the door to get the girl, only in the meme thing, he's holding a doubling dice cube and she's freaking out. It's pretty funny.

OK whoever did Jack Nicholson with the doubling dice cube has a great sense of humor
am I the only one that's seen it?

that wasn't what I said, but your view of the board does.
Personally the notation makes no difference to me, I only use it in the case of a bug report and it makes no difference to the playing experience.
Maybe it would be possible to have it as an optional setting

I think you must be mistaken. Standard notation doesn't change based on the direction of play.

As the notation is based on how you see the board and not necessarily the same as your opponent sees it (due to the graphic options at GT) I think standard notation would be confusing. I like to have my board setup so I'm always playing CCW irrelevant of colour

I'd like to bring up again that I think backgammon and related games on GoldToken should revert to standard backgammon notation, as described in this article: https://thegammonpress.com/backgammon-notation. I don't know if it's difficult to make the change.
