(#5576567) Re: Playing High Seas using 28mm wargaming miniatures

Here's a picture of the High Seas setup

I'm making steady progress on this project, however it's getting rather 'salty' though, I now have slightly over $300 invested in materials. Looks like I'll have to plunder some more treasure ships!
The two pirate ships are setting on a 2ft x 2ft 'ocean' mat (I'm probably going to increase that to a 2 1/2ft x 2 1/2ft mat), I've made a temporary screen that will be placed between the two ships during the plotting phase and then removed when the combat phase begins. I plan on making the screen look like a fog bank, suddenly the two ships spot each other through the thick fog!
Each player has 3" x 6" black tray, the six dice determine the available fighting crews for that round, on a 1 or 2 it's a landing party; on a 3 or 4 it's a musketeer (sharpshooter); on a 5 or 6 it's a cannon. This will remind the opposing player what fighting crews are available to his opponent that round. the round poker chips indicate the opponents crew statis for each fighting position, either 1, 2, 3 or four chips.
My grandson and I plan on putting out to sea later today in search of plunder!
