A tip for immediate feedback on the correctness or incorrectness of your guess.

Due to the nature of the beast, we were unable to program an immediate screen displaying the accuracy of your guess, but there is a straightforward work-around.
Immediately after you submit your move, hit the Back arrow on your browser. I believe the Windows keyboard shortcut for that is CTRL + [ {open bracket]. That will return you to the page you just left. (Mac users use the Command button instead of CTRL)
Then hit the Refresh button on the browser, or CTRL + R. That will refresh the page and show you where the letter you just guessed appears or give the poor li'l guy another addition to his body.
What I do at that point is, if I see the next letter I want to guess, or have an epiphany as to the solution, I write a note to myself in the yellow Game Notes box and then hit the Update Notes button to the right of the box and I'm ready to hit the Gamesheet button or the GT Logo at the top of the page or Ctrl + ] and return to my game playing.
An alternative to that if you are playing a lot of Hangman games is to go into Preferences and click on General. At the top of that page, the first option presented is After I make a move in a game: If you choose Show me the move and then hit Apply and Finish at the bottom of the page, you will find that after you Save the Move you will return to the game and it will show you if you made a correct or incorrect choice. Beware of the downside though, that this will now happen with every game you play unless you click on "Save and go to Gamesheet" or "Save and go to next similar game".

I love playing this game but I wish we didnt have to win 6 words to win it. It takes a long time to get that many. I was thinking along the lines of maybe winning 3 in a tourney. It would move it along a lot faster.

I prefer to set friendly games to 4 word wins... and I agree that 4 words would make tournaments go quickly also
