GoldToken's Monthly News

Win a name icon of your choice in the "Best summertime recipe" contest. The winner will be given a "one time" access to the entire list of site icons, and can select any one that is not currently being used by another player, regardless of membership level (Silver and Wood members can keep the icon for 1 year!). Rules:

• Entries must be posted by the recipe guardian/creator on the Cutting Board DB.
• Recipe must be original and have never been posted on the Cutting Board DB before.
• Deadline for all entries is midnight PST August 27th, 2010.

Winner will be chosen via a poll on the Cutting Board DB, and announced in the September 2010 newsletter.

After an in-depth discussion on the Platinum Members DB, a number of site improvements are in the process of being added. The first of which is entirely a surprise to everyone (except a very small handful of players directly involved in the process) and will be on beta shortly. I soooo wish we could tell all, as this is a most exciting project, but you will just have to wait or find it in a week or so on the beta site at http://beta.goldtoken.com/

I recently started playing Reversi again and have been completely re-smitten (is this a word?), with this lovely, easy to play, yet challenging game. Sometimes we forget about some of the great games on GoldToken. This has spurred me on to start a new feature, called Game of the Month to reintroduce and remind players of some of the special games we have on GoldToken. In doing so, we will run a Game of the Month - Double Elimination Tournament open for everyone with 5 Golderos prize to the winner. I found GoldToken by accident, I was a member of IYT, and went searching for other game sites to play people on the net. I've been here 7 years already! Boy, time flies when your having fun! I haven't met anyone personally from GoldToken, but I have made quite a few friends. I really like all the card games, and the Backgammon variants, but I really think Grabble is my favorite.

The Club Nascar Club is my favorite club! PattyMac has made me very welcome! And everyone in the club is friendly and helpful.

For a living, I drive a truck. I am an owner operator of a Step deck.

I travel all 48 states. I enjoy my business, it has its draw backs, but nothing beats all the different sunsets I get to see. I meet people from all walks of life, I get to some of the darnedest places, and I see alot of neat stuff! I have a few drivers that also belong to GoldToken that I play against.

The greatest thing about GoldToken are the People!

I joined GoldToken some time ago, but I think my membership lapsed at one point. I was still working outside my home and time was at a premium. Then I got a message to come back. I did and really got hooked. I even bumped up to a Platinum Membership!!! The longer I am a member the more there is to like. Where else can I display my love of limericks? ( see Limericks under the Wiki Web )

Privacy/security is very important to me. Most all players seem to respect that. GoldToken Support is absolutely the best. The rare times when I have had something unpleasant to deal with involving another player it has been handled swiftly and effectively by GoldToken Support. My hat goes off to Badger, firefly, Mecir, and all the others who make this site happen. I can't imagine the amount of time you must spend just so we can play games.

I originally found this site looking for a place to play chess online. I gave up on chess, but all the other games I play ( Grabble and Dominoes plus variants ) guarantee a boredom-free life.
