Three is the magic number!

This tournament will consist of three sets of three rounds each, with an elimination between
each set.

Rules

1. The game is regular Backgammon
2. Each round will consist of three games, played at the same time
3. Each Set will consist of three rounds

4. After each set, players who don't make the cut will be eliminated
5. 2 day ~~~> TWO DAY <~~~ loss of game.

6. First named player invites, puts in the game numbers and chooses color.
7. Invites must be out not later than 48 hrs after start date.
8. *As long as a player does play before the end of the round, or by the time everyone else has finished, they will not be timed out. if your invite/s time out or you are not sent one or more, please contact joannamarie or Jane for proper credit although it will not show on this wiki until the round ends...thanks
Start dates:

1. round 1: 9/25/05...timeout date round 1: 9/28/05
2. round 2: 10/9/05...timeout date round 2: 10/12/05
3. round 3: 11/28/05...timeout date round 3: 12/1/05

Wait for everyone to finish

Scoring

Each game is worth 2 points
The player with the higher net margin of victory in pips after three games gets one point
For example, if a player loses two games by 5 and 7 pips, but wins the third by 15, they will get the point for having the higher net net margin of victory (15 beats 12).
A gammon earns one bonus point, a backgammon earns two

A player with fewer than 11 points after round 3 will be eliminated
A player with fewer than 24 points after round 6 will be eliminated
The surviving player with the highest score after 3 sets (9 rounds) is the winner
(Sample tournament at bottom)

A wildcard may be awarded to keep the number of players even
