Tournament LayOuts

A typical Challenge Wiki should look like this:

  • You should always list out the rules at the top of the page
  • List the line up of players and expected opponents
  • Create you chart for the matches
  • Create your chart for scoring

    • Challenge Against { Club }
      • 1 week loss of game
      • 2 games (1 of each color)
      • 0 Points for a loss
      • 1 point for a draw
      • 2 points for a win

*** Overall Diferential +/- 0

{ Player }0{ Player }0+/- 0
{ Player }0{ Player }0+/- 0
{ Player }0{ Player }0+/- 0

{ Player }{ Player }{ Game# }{ Game# }{ Player }{ Player }
{ Player }{ Player }{ Game# }{ Game# }{ Player }{ Player }

  • Score Summary
    • { Club } = 0
    • { Club } = 0

When multiple rounds are played you can simply duplicate the table for each round and replace the score summary with this table:

ScoreCardRound 1Round 2Round 3Round 4Round 5Total
{ Club }000000
The Chess4Fun Club000000

Another table you can use is a multi player score summary

Round 1 Section 1
Playerwin/lose/drawScoreStatus
{ Player }0-0-00Active/Eliminated
{ Player }0-0-00Active/Eliminated
{ Player }0-0-00Active/Eliminated
{ Player }0-0-00Active/Eliminated
{ Player }0-0-00Active/Eliminated

  • If only one round is being played you can simply delete off the top row and use the remainder of the chart

As your club grows, so may your challenges. Or perhaps the club wishes to play a match of everyone playing everyone. Something which may require a more advanced wiki.

  • One Layont you may choose to prefer using is one which will list a single player and everyone that person is playing. For that you would need something like this

*Leo The Lion against
OpponentRound 1Round 2
{ Player }{ Game# }W/L{ Game# }W/L
{ Player }{ Game# }W.L{ Game# }W/L
{ Player }{ Game# }W/L{ Game# }W/L

{ Player }{ Game# }W/L{ Game# }W/L
{ Player }{ Game# }W/L{ Game# }W/L
Final ResultsWon 0 Lost 0Won 0 Lost 0

    • Please note that if you wish to add more rounds to the above table, where the players name is at the top, you would need to add 2 "vertical lines" for each round added and on the bottom copy and paste each round section with the Won 0 Lost 0 segment is

Then we have the infamous Round Robin tournaments where we all play everyone else in the form of rounds. This one, outside of copying and pasting then filling in the blanks, you're better off having to learn to alter on your own. It is to complicated to explain the creation of and all information is duplicated, but be sure to choose the table for vertical or horizontal use and then paste this note into the wiki as well.

  • FYI... The Letters W, L, D by the game signify a win loss or draw of that game, The grid for a player goes horizontally not vertically (Or vice versa depending on how you choose to use the table)
