September's winner is: Hasselback Potatoes
Ingredients
6 medium Yukon Gold potatoes
Extra-virgin olive oil
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
Fresh sage leaves
Garlic Butter, melted (basically I chop up a bunch of garlic and mix it in with softened butter and keep in the fridge)
Fresh parsley, for serving
Red pepper flakes, for serving
Instructions
1 Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place one of the potatoes on a cutting board and lay butter knives or chopsticks along both of its long sides. Use a sharp knife to cut the potato crosswise into ⅛-inch-thick slices, stopping when your knife reaches the butter knives or chopsticks so that the potato stays intact at the bottom. Repeat with the remaining potatoes.
2 Place the potatoes on the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and use your hands to coat, doing your best to get the oil and seasonings in between the potato slices. Slide a sage leaf into each of the cracks between the potato slices. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and roast for 50 minutes.
3 Remove the potatoes from the oven and brush with the garlic butter. Roast for another 25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender in the middle and crisp around the edges. Season to taste with salt and pepper and top with parsley and red pepper flakes. Serve with more garlic butter on the side.

Hi everyone in GT land! My name is RaeRae – which is my middle name – squared. I had no idea what name I wanted .. LOL
I came to GT from my sister ladygoodwrench, way back in 2016. I had been looking for a website that played cribbage, that I liked, and she suggested Gold Token. It’s not Java live, like I was used to but it’s enough to enjoy more than 1 game at a time!!
I don’t have a lot of clubs I'm in – not that I don’t want to – but I like to keep a good control of how many games I play so I don’t get overwhelmed. 😊
I play a lot of cribbage, Acey Deucy, and I’ve learned to play tic tac stack here – I like that game 😉
I’ve met a lot of great people on here, interests range from music, venues and concerts, to time I spent in the Navy in Rota and San Diego, to my hometown now of Nashville TN and also Colorado where I grew up.
Cant think of anything else to write – see you all in the games !!

Best New Game Design
October's contest is the best New Game Design submitted throughout the month. You can include your own graphics, opt to use graphics already available on GoldToken, or if chosen as the winning entry, possibly have your graphics designed by our professional graphic artists. All entries will be reviewed for playability, and judged by GoldToken's Graphic Arts team. The winning game will be announced in November's newsletter. Winner will receive two extra months on their current membership, or, if Guest, a two-month Silver membership, and see their new game added to GoldToken's collection of games (as long as it is feasible to code), sometime during the next year.
There are a number of steps involved in creating a new board game. A new game design can be a variation of a current game or entirely new, but it must be original and not a game found anywhere else. Start with variations of games that you love, that you loved as a child, etc. Work out what makes these games fun, what’s wrong with these games, what could be better. Look at all different kinds of games from many different genres. This is the most fun part of game design. We hope you enjoy planning your entry!

wineries like, Brown Brothers, De Bartoli, Campbell and others in the Rutherglen region and King Valley. Also to explore the mighty Murray River.

- I love to bake, sew, quilt, gardening (unknown photo) and a huge lover of music.

- No
, children but 6 nephews, 1 niece, 2 great nephews and 2 great nieces.

- I am an IT project manager & still love it after 40 years.

- I love animals, 1 dog, 2 cats, finches, parrots and some gold fish
in an outside pond. I also feed loads of beautiful wild birds, King parrots, eastern rosellas, galahs, wrens and finches. (unknown photo)

- I am 69, female.

- I love lots of different food, but Roast Lamb or Lamb cutlets is a favourite.
10. What's the farthest you've been from home?
- I have travelled a lot with my work, the farthest from Australia was the UK. I have travelled to over 26 countries.
11. If you could be anywhere right now, where would that be?
- Sitting on one of the beautiful beaches in the east coast of Australia, they are magic. (unknown photo)

Hi everyone in GT land! My name is RaeRae – which is my middle name – squared. I had no idea what name I wanted .. LOL
I came to GT from my sister ladygoodwrench, way back in 2016. I had been looking for a website that played cribbage, that I liked, and she suggested Gold Token. It’s not Java live, like I was used to but it’s enough to enjoy more than 1 game at a time!!
I don’t have a lot of clubs I'm in – not that I don’t want to – but I like to keep a good control of how many games I play so I don’t get overwhelmed. 😊
I play a lot of cribbage, Acey Deucy, and I’ve learned to play tic tac stack here – I like that game 😉
I’ve met a lot of great people on here, interests range from music, venues and concerts, to time I spent in the Navy in Rota and San Diego, to my hometown now of Nashville TN and also Colorado where I grew up.

Best New Game Design
October's contest is the best New Game Design submitted throughout the month. You can include your own graphics, opt to use graphics already available on GoldToken, or if chosen as the winning entry, possibly have your graphics designed by our professional graphic artists. All entries will be reviewed for playability, and judged by GoldToken's Graphic Arts team. The winning game will be announced in November's newsletter. Winner will receive two extra months on their current membership, or, if Guest, a two-month Silver membership, and see their new game added to GoldToken's collection of games (as long as it is feasible to code), sometime during the next year.
There are a number of steps involved in creating a new board game. A new game design can be a variation of a current game or entirely new, but it must be original and not a game found anywhere else. Start with variations of games that you love, that you loved as a child, etc. Work out what makes these games fun, what’s wrong with these games, what could be better. Look at all different kinds of games from many different genres. This is the most fun part of game design. We hope you enjoy planning your entry!
