Account Name Rules
Please, follow GoldToken's Discussion Board Rules when creating a user name.
We have created this family site with an eye toward making games available to anyone who wants to play. We have spent a lot of time making sure that the games work on many different systems and appeal to players of all ages. To this end, we also have basic rules of conduct that govern player interaction and activity within GoldToken to protect everyone's gaming enjoyment and strictly enforce them. Failure to act responsibly and comply with these rules may result in the suspension and/or termination of your account without any refund of any kind. Because this is a family game site, we feel the need to also apply some rules of conduct to the naming of accounts.
The following types of names are inappropriate:
- Vile, profane, rude, or racist names including common swear words, anatomical references, racial slurs, and homonyms of these words.
- Combinations of words that produce an offensive result (e.g. Hugeaz, McGroin).
- Names of religious, occult, or significant historic origin (e.g. Jesus, Allah, Satan, Stalin, Hitler).
- Trademarked names of products, services, or concepts (e.g. Marlboro, Sony, Band-Aid).
- Names of famous people, either fictional or non-fictional that might fall under trademarked material or real life celebrities (e.g. Bill Clinton, Austin Powers, Britney Spears, Harry Potter).
- References to drug substances or drug related paraphernalia. (e.g. Ecstasy, Cannabis).
- The use of abbreviations or symbols to create an unacceptable user name.
For all of the above, misspellings and alternative spellings of the words are also unacceptable.
All user names that fall under any of the categories above will be moderated, without any prior notice. You will be unable to play or send messages until you rename your account to a more acceptable name.
Applying and interpreting the above rules is at the discretion of GoldToken Management.
* If you have a question about a site tip or helpful tool you would like answered next month, please send GoldToken's Newshound a message before the 25th of this month.

Game Of The Month |
April's game of the month is Diagonal Duel! Join us in a fun Double Elimination Tournament by signing up today for The April 2015 Game of the Month Tournament!
How to play Diangonal Duel, by Red Panda
Category: Diagonal Duel
This is a really fun game.
One player plays red, one player plays blue.
The object of the game is to move just one of your pieces to the opposite corner.
Your pieces have numbers (1-6) ( in the large game it is 1-10)
On your move, you roll a dice, and then you move that numbered piece one square forward (diagonally, vertically or horizontally). If you move on top of another piece, you capture/eat it and it is no longer in the game. You can capture your own or your opponents piece.
If you roll a number, and your piece of that number is no longer on the board , you can choose either the next higher number or next lower number.
As an example if you have just 3 pieces left 1 3 and 6 and you roll a 4. You get to choose to move either 6 (next highest) or 3 (next lowest)
What this means is that if your 6 piece can move if you roll 4 5 6 .. ie 50% of the turns. while your 3 piece can move if your roll 2 3 4 5 (66% of the turns) and your 1 piece can move if you roll 1 or 2 ( 33 % o the turns)
You need to look at these probabilities of your opponent.
Generally taking your own piece is a good strategy, provided you keep at least two (if you have one, you are in danger of being captured and out of the game). By having less piece , you have more choice and probability of moving any one piece.
Try to move to encourage capturing of your correct piece
Capturing dangerous opponent pieces may be required to keep you in the game. Your back corner square is important for defense, as people can't move one away from winning without giving you a chance to win.
To play the game is very simple.
a) Select random setup unless you are an expert. Based on statistics there might be some setup that are slightly better, but random is good enough
b) from the dice roll you may be give a choice of 2 pieces. I usually choose the most mobile (e.g. 3 in example above) or just the piece with the number
c) you then have a maximum of 3 squares. I choose the best one based on ease of me capturing my own piece, ease of opponent capturing my piece, impact if I capture my opponents piece, and how quickly can I win.
Once you have the hang of it , you can try large (dice 1-10) and also multipoint games.
Have fun
We hope you enjoy it!

**~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**
We would like to say to oldog for letting us step into their personal life for a bit.
1. What brought you to GoldToken?
I had been playing some games on Facebook since they first started, but became disheartened when they 'grew' and paying to advance in the game became an option, rather than working to so. I felt that this made it so everyone was no longer on a fair playing field, and suddenly it became more of a chore than a game, and since I really wasn't having fun, there was no sense to playing. I let my friends know I was quitting, and that's when 'restivo46' told me about Gold Token. Up until that point, I wasn't even aware that there were game sites available outside of Facebook, but since I love playing cards and old board games, I decided to give it a try, and I have never looked back, and thank my friend, Paul!
How'd you choose your name for GT?
That was easy! I have always been both a cat and dog lover, but my German Shepherds are the love of my life . They are so smart and devoted and sometimes I think they know what I'm going to do before I even do it! So, since I'm sort of on the old side, 'oldog' immediately came to mind. Besides, I've been calling my husband an olgoat for years, so they kind of fit together!
2. What interests you most on GT?
Well, besides the large variety of games, I love all the little 'extras' that GT offers to us, I love earning the cool tokens, the profile icons, the different contests, etc. (particularly the photo contests). Most of all I'm happy to have the games that I learned to love as a kid because I am limited in what I can do because of neurological problems which has made me have to completely change my lifestyle, and it makes me slow at whatever I do. I love the environment on GT.....
Favorite game here?
I have a several favorites, but at the top of the chart are Square Grabble, Grabble Race, and the different Whist variations. I usually try to stick with the faster games because I get frustrated with myself on the longer games when I get behind, and I've also learned to limit how many I play because it's not fair to other players if I have so many that I get way behind.
3. What State or Country do you reside in?
I live in New Hampshire, which is on the East coast of the United States. What in your State or Country do you think tourist should definitely see?
NH's motto is 'Scenic NH' and we have some beautiful beaches and lakes, but I think that seeing the fall colors in the White Mountains would be number one on my list.
4. What hobbies do you have?
I started showing dogs in obedience in 1975 with a Siberian Husky, but got my first German Shepherd in 1983 and fell in love with them. I put numerous AKC obedience titles on several dogs over the years, owned and bred AKC Champions, and put some Herding titles on my 13 yr. old girl, when we were both much younger, but my health issues forced me to stop showing in obedience and herding. I still show a young male that I have Conformation (which is where they earn their Championships) because I have a friend who handles them for me and I just have to sit outside the ring! Other hobbies: I'm a big researcher and advocate of rare diseases, am working on my family genealogy, love taking pictures , but mostly I play games!
5. Children?
I have two boys ....and am proud to say that they both served our country in the Air Force. The older one retired a few years ago after 24 years of service and the younger one served for 8 years.
Grandchildren?
Yes.....my older son has a son who just turned 24 and a daughter who is 14. My younger son has 3 boys....and they range in age from 11 months to 5-1/2 yrs., so there's a bit of a span in their ages!
6. Do you work?
I have been disabled since 2005.What kind of work did you do?
I was a buyer for 11 yrs. for a large industrial firm prior to 1989, when I decided to go to the dogs. I apprenticed as a dog groomer and worked at a veterinary hospital before opening a shop in my home, called 'Doggie Depot'; and assisted in teaching obedience classes 3 nights a week.
7. Any pets?
I have 3 German Shepherds, aged 1-1/2, 7 and 13, and sadly, my old girl's days are numbered because of severe arthritis in her spine. I also have a 9 yr. old Tonkinese cat ....a breed I've had since the early 70's, and am partial to them because they are like little dogs. They're very sociable, retrieve little toys and aren't as independent as cats are usually known to be. They originated from breeding Siamese and Burmese and are accurately described in their standard as being dog like and monkey like.
8. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50?
Next month, I'll be 15 yrs. over 50!!Male or Female?
I'm so glad you asked!! I am a female, but many people think I'm a male when they first 'meet' me because of my name, which could be either male or female.
9. What's the farthest you've been from home?
Tijuana, Mexicovacation or for business?
I went to a dog show in San Diego with a group of friends and we allowed a couple of extra days for site seeing.
10. If you could be anywhere right now where would that be?
If you asked me 10 yrs. ago, I wouldn't hesitate to say 'a dog show!'. But since you said, 'right now' I would stay right where I am....in my recliner with my laptop with my kitty sleeping on me, my dogs sleeping nearby and my husband sleeping in the bedroom.
11. Favorite season?
I love spring because of the beautiful flowers , the budding trees, the birds chirping and feeling the fresh air after a long winter, but I hate the bugs and the humidity that comes later in the spring (right now we still have a foot of snow on the ground!), so I would have to say fall is my favorite. I love the cool, crisp fall days, the fresh apples and the changing colors of the trees.
12, Favorite movie?
I have to confess that I don't have one, because I am not a big tv or movie fan. I would guess it's been at least five years since I watched a movie from start to finish, but I am a Stephen King fan, like something suspenseful and true crime....but I usually have my nose stuck in my laptop...Actor?
All around favorite: I guess I'd have to pick Clint Eastwood because he has consistently had great movies for so many years.Actress?
I really don't have one.Song?
I like a lot of songs, but mostly soft rock and new country. I like a lot of the oldies, Elvis, Roy Oberson, Celine Dion, Elton John, Simon and Garfunkel, John Lennon, and Willie Nelson quickly came to mind and really dislike hard rock. I like a really calm, peaceful atmosphere and often listen to 'Let There Be Peace On Earth' by Vince Gil, because it's so appropriate for the times, as it was for my class song in 1968. Oops, I almost forgot Iz KamakawiwoʻoleI's, 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', which is very close to a favorite, but I guess I should say my favorite song is 'I Want You to Love Me Like My Dog Does', by Billy Currington...lol because I do like it!!
I just want to say a sincere to those of you who do so much to make Gold Token what it is because my life would be mighty boring without it and I know it really helps my neurologically challenged brain active!
If there are any questions you would like to see asked in future interviews, please let us know.
