Best Recipe Contest

July's winner is: Peach Cobbler

• Submitted by **Lover of Darkness**

6 to 8 large ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
2-1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
3/4 to 1 cup sugar
CRUST:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large egg yolks. room temperature
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sugar
2 large egg whites, room temperature, stiffly beaten

Directions
Combine peaches, cornstarch and sugar; place in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. For crust, combine flour, egg yolks, butter, baking powder and sugar in a bowl. Gently fold in egg whites. Spread over peaches. Bake at 375° until the fruit is bubbling around edges and top is golden, about 45 minutes.

Add a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream when serving.
Delicious if I might say so.

Pony Up!

July was a busy month on the Pony Up! board with many tokens and golderos given out for our contests. We had new names formed from candy bars, trivia, riddles, caption this, famous expressions trivia and a surprise contest where contestants could request a token given out to the person they designated.

Lots of fun galloping around the Pony Up board so come on by, give us a look-see and vote in the polls for your favorite entry in various contests. Second place tokens are also given out on various contests.

We would like to say to Dragon Jr for letting us step into their personal life for a bit.

1.How'd you choose your name for GT?

• At the company where I used to work, doing word processing, the office manager was a lady named Irene. She and I worked together for 7 years. Irene wrote the name 'Dragon Lady' on her stapler. I call myself Dragon Jr in her honor. (unknown photo)

2. What interests you most on GT? Do you have a favorite game?

• I don't have a favorite game, but I play most of the games offered here. I always enjoy playing in the tournaments.

3. What state or country do you reside in? What do you think tourists should definitely see?

• I live in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Some of the interesting places to visit in the Toronto area are the Ontario Science Center, Canada's Wonderland and the Royal Ontario Museum.

4. What hobbies do you have?

• I enjoy doing crochet, which I learned from a magazine when I was 12. Also, I am an unpublished author of fantasy novels.

5. Children? Grandchildren?

• I am a bachelor (no children or grandchildren).

6. Do you work? What kind of work do/did you do?

• Before the lockdown caused by COVID-19, I used to work in office administration for the YMCA. I hope to return to work soon.

7. Any pets?

• I don't have any pets. One of my former roommates had a black cat named Pancho, a miniature panther.

8. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50? Male or Female?

• I'm male and over 50.

9. Favorite food?

• I don't have a favorite food.

10. What's the farthest you've been from home?

• My grandmother used to live in Germany. Mom and I often visited her and traveled with her.

11. If you could be anywhere right now, where would that be?

• Because of the lockdown, I'm glad that I'm here in Toronto. My first roommate and his family live in the small town called Bancroft. I hope the COVID crisis will be over soon, so I can visit them again.

12. Favorite season?

• My favorite season is the spring. It's always nice when the long, cold winter finally has ended.

13. Favorite movie? Favorite TV show?

• My favorite TV show is 'The Big Bang Theory'. With regard to movies, I enjoy watching romantic comedies.

14. If you could meet anyone (living or dead) in the world, who would it be?

• It might be nice to meet Socrates, or one of the other ancient Greek philosophers.

Contest of the Month

Best Nugget Contest

August's contest is the Best Nugget submitted throughout the month. All entries will be posted in a poll for voting, and the winner will be announced in next month's newsletter. Winner will receive two extra months on their current membership, or, if Guest, a two-month Silver membership.

Nuggets articles give players an opportunity to write various tutorials, strategy guides, and other materials related to playing each of our many games, as well as general information about out various site features. Once approved, the new Nugget article will be added to the appropriate category for all players to see.

Searching and sorting functionality is also available, allowing you to easily find what you are looking for.

Guest and Wood level players can submit one Nugget per month. Players with a Silver membership or higher can submit as many articles as they wish.

When submitting articles, please be sure to only submit content that you have written yourself, or that you have a permission from its author to post here. Citations and links are obviously fine, as long as they do not lead to inappropriate content.

To write and submit a Nugget, click the Nuggets link at the top of your game sheet.

Entries must be posted no later than 11:59pm, Pacific Time, Wednesday, August 28, 2021.
