December's game of the month is Zero G Four in a Row! Join us in a fun Double Elimination Tournament by signing up today for The Dec 2017 - Game of the Month - Zero G 4 in a Row Tournament!
In this variant of Four in a Row, each player places one piece on the board at a time. At the beginning of the game, only the squares along the edges of the board can be played in. Each subsequent piece played on the board must be placed so that there is a line of pieces either horizontally or vertically from the newly placed piece and at least one edge of the board with no intervening empty squares.

November's winner is: Ole Fasioned Pumpkin Pie
Pie filling
1 (15) oz Pumpkin, either can or freshly boiled
1 (14) Oz sweetened condensed milk. I use the store brand or which ever one you use. They don't make a big difference.
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons of Pumpkin pie spice. if you don't have that you can use 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger and 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg. I like to add just a bit more then a half of teaspoon of the different spices.. I always have pumpkin pie spice in my cabinet along with the others.
1/2 teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of sugar.
Crust
I always make two crusts because I'm always making 4 or more pies at the same time so I double this recipe.
for 2 crusts
2 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup of Crisco Butter Flavored Shortening (This butter flavor is a must)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of sugar.
1/4 cup of cold water
1 9 inch pie pan. can be aluminum or regular pan.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees ?on European temp.
I do this all in my Kitchenaid mixer because it's so much easier for me with my hands and a hand blender.
In a large bowl mix the flour, salt sugar and the Crisco together till it forms a crumbly mixture
Then add in the cold water
Mix till it forms a ball on the beaters. then take off the beaters knead it a bit to form a nice ball then cut it in half. Roll out the dough to form the circle. you can cut this dough and patch it up if you make a mistake.(I use my Tupperware Pastry sheet) You can do it between two pieces of either wax paper or plastic wrap and roll half the dough till it measures about 1 inch further then the pie pan that you have. (invert the pie pan over the rolled out dough to measure)
Remove the top piece of paper or plastic and then fold in half carefully and place the one half on the half of the pie pan and then turn it over and flip the other side so it's even. Cut the edges of the crust and use a fork to press down the edges of the crust over the top of the pie pan and set aside.
Clean out that bowl and add all the ingredients for the pie filling and mix slowly so it doesn't splash all over the place. When all the ingredients are well blended then pour into the pie crust and bake at 450 degrees for 45 min then cover the pie with foil as it will tend to burn the edges, and bake for another 10 min..
You can whip up some heavy cream or buy the Redi Cream in a shake container (I don't like this stuff).
To make cream use a small container of heavy whipping cream
4 teaspoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar.(This keeps the cream firm)

Remove the top piece of paper or plastic and then fold in half carefully and place the one half on the half of the pie pan and then turn it over and flip the other side so it's even. Cut the edges of the crust and use a fork to press down the edges of the crust over the top of the pie pan and set aside.
Clean out that bowl and add all the ingredients for the pie filling and mix slowly so it doesn't splash all over the place. When all the ingredients are well blended then pour into the pie crust and bake at 450 degrees for 45 min then cover the pie with foil as it will tend to burn the edges, and bake for another 10 min..
You can whip up some heavy cream or buy the Redi Cream in a shake container (I don't like this stuff).
To make cream use a small container of heavy whipping cream
4 teaspoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar.(This keeps the cream firm)
