There has been some confusion (my fault entirely) regarding Custom Club Tokens. Customized tokens are possible by winning a Club vs Club tournament...any of them. Be the club that wins the most tournaments within the tournament, send GoldToken Support a note complete with the linked details and your club will get custom tokens. If only one game is played in that tournament, Backgammon for examply, then the club the winner plays for, wins!
Once your club has custom token's, you can have the tokens applied to your tournaments by sending GoldToken Support 2 Golderos and including a link to the tournament, and they will be issued automatically. The first set is always free!
While it's not something you will see, Mecir upgraded GoldToken's payment system to make it safer for you and comply with changing technology this last January. GoldToken still uses PayPal as our payment merchant, because it's been my experience it's the safest way to manage funds online. However, if you aren't comfortable with PayPal, we still accept money orders and checks through the mail. Please let us know on the Bug Reports should you experience any issues with our upgraded system.
to pepperbeach for winning the 24/7 game! (unknown photo), already awarded to only one new players profile. Claim it by telling ;;gs;; where it's currently at and it will be transfered to your account. Once a year (a random date about every 365 days or so), who ever holds it gets a 2 month Silver membership prize or extension of their current membership. So no spoofing it! searching!
Have a wonderful month and play like you mean it!

Why do I keep getting suggestions to invite a random player to a game?
One of the frustrating things about playing board games is finding an opponent who is just right for you. As Goldilocks discovered when she visited the home of the three bears, you don't want an opponent who is much more skilled at the game than you are, nor do you want one who offers little challenge. One of the great features of this site is our Suggested Opponents.
We use a rating system. This site uses a rating system to estimate your skill in every game you play. The more games you complete, the more accurate this rating system becomes. You can read about Ratings for more details.
We make suggestions. Based on your performance in the games you have completed, we will suggest opponents that we feel will offer a good competition to you. We do this by comparing your rating to the ratings of other players at this site, and then recommending the players who most closely match your skill level.
The suggestions change according to your skill. If you are just getting started, we make suggestions based on our average player. If you end up winning the game, we suggest a more skilled opponent for the next game. If you end up losing, our next suggestion will be against another player who is also still getting the hang of the game. As your skills in the game improve, so will the skill set of your suggested opponents. We'll find the right opponent for you!
This feature can be turned on or off in your Preferences, on the Gamesheet tab - "show a game suggestion". When activated, you'll see the suggestion on the lower right-hand side of your gamesheet.

Hubby Man of Steel and I were playing at ItsYourTurn.com when his fellow chess player, now known as Badger , told him about a great new gaming site called GoldToken, at that time being developed by Chad. We both joined in March 2000 -- there were 4 games to choose from: Chess, Checkers, Four In A Row and Reversi. That summer Salvo (the first multi-player game) was added and this became my main game at GT.
I've met many interesting people at GT, some sadly no longer with us, and have seen many site developments: tournaments, clubs and wikis. I'm a member of far too many clubs (including The Multi-Player Gaming Center Club and The Friendship Club and I play regularly in wiki club games and club/site tournaments, as well as friendlies. Also enjoy taking part in the Summer and Winter Olympics (but alas, not winning many team medals!).
My current fav. games are: Fives And Threes, Dice Dots, Neapolitan Shake and American Rummikub.
Gold Token -- Here's to another 18 years (at least)!

There are Valentine Icons in Row 6, these are open for adoption from any membership level which includes Guest, Wood, or Silver. If you request a holiday icon and you have in your saves already, that saved icon will put on. At that time you may request a trade for the one on the board that you like if it is still available. Remember one Holiday icon per member .
Does your club have icons? There were TWO clubs recently that adopted their club collection as reported in Club News. There are a lot of collections left, such as the "Moon Sleepers". { Image: goldtoken.com/pics/icon101208120347.gif } and { Image: goldtoken.com/pics/icon131022142632.gif } This is a small collection so it is suitable for a small club. Contact the GoldToken's Icon Fairy if your club is interested in this collection or you can see more offered here - Club Icons
Did you see the Icon Of The Day. Why its Batman!

In a earlier post it was mentioned that The West of the Setting Sun Club secured their own club icons. Well so did this club The Deck of Cards Club they also secured club icons for their club. Both of these clubs can now offer their members, that includes silver members a choice of wearing a icon from their collection. You will need to see Cheetah for Deck of Cards or tzorec at West of the Setting Sun to make these available to you.
When I saw The Friends Of Dorothy Club, I was curious about the name. Owner TabbyCatexplains “Judy Garland played the part of Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz” and was very gay friendly. She used to hang out in the gay piano bar in Boston and at a time when it was not "safe" to ask about someone's sexuality, the code was to ask if they knew Dorothy, or if they were a "friend of Dorothy's". If they answered yes, then you were pretty sure they were gay.
If you go on some cruise ships (like the Holland America Line) they have a "Friends of Dorothy" meeting, also may have a "Friends of Bill" which refers to the first name of the founder of AA. So, I knew that if people in the gay community on this site were to run across the name, they might join; although it is not meant to be exclusive. Rather a place where gay friendly people could engage in friendly discussions or banter.” That makes it singular, “The club is unique in that it targets a specific demographic of people who might not have a safe place to discuss topics that might not otherwise be acceptable or appropriate on other clubs.”
TabbyCat“formed the group...sometime in 2012 or 13.” He says “There has not been much change in the club. But, have to confess that I have pretty much left it to others to use. Perhaps I need to revisit it and see if I can find a way to get more engagement on it.
The Friends Of Dorothy Club does play games, which are focused mostly on “Chess, backgammon primarily; but open to others.” But the main point is that it “Gives an opportunity to help other people who would like a place to express themselves without fear or concern about how others might feel.” His future hopes are “I'd like the club to be recognized as a place where people of any persuasion or belief can enter into civil discussions about any topic they would like; be it gay, politics, current events.” It’s a worthy goal.
Competitions are published when gold, silver & bronze winners have been determined

**~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**
We would like to say to Pinksmoke for letting us step into their personal life for a bit.
1. What brought you to Goldtoken?
I was playing on IYT and was unhappy with the people there and a person told me about GoldToken and here I am. Been here since 2006.
How'd you choose your name for GT?
It is my late husband's favorite bush so I took it for my name. (It is a beautiful bush)
2. What interests you most on GT?
The way everyone makes this such a family based site. I have made such wonderful friends here.
Favorite game here?
Gee, that is hard. I love most of the Rummikub games but I also love cribbage. Don't know which one would be tops. I play so many others also.
3. What state or country do you reside in?
Sigh, I live in Texas, been here 27 years and plan on going home soon. My sister z71cat and I are selling our home here and moving back to Michigan.
What in your state or country do you think a tourist should definitely see?
Here in Texas, I would recommend seeing Big Bend National Park. It is AWESOME! In Michigan, I would say drive up the coast of Lake Michigan and then go across the Mackinaw Bridge. It also is AWESOME!
4. What hobbies do you have?
My main passion is gardening, followed by crocheting, sewing, jewelry making and can't forget camping (tent) and fishing!
5. Children?
I have 4 children.Grandchildren?
I have 8 grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren with twins expected in August. Wow, do I feel old at times,
6. Do you work?
Retired and loving it!What kind of work did you do?
I was one of the first 5 female Firefighters in the State of Michigan and a State Licensed Ambulance Attendant also. Otherwise busy raising children.
7. Any pets?
Yep! Right now we have 4 cats which were raised from about 4 weeks old (feral kittens) 1 dog, and 1 stupid bird (Cockatiel). These amounts could change in the blink of an eye.
8. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50?
Definitely over 50...Male or Female?
Female
9. What's the farthest you've been from home?
I have been to Germany and while there went to France and Luxemburg.
10. If you could be anywhere right now where would that be?
AT HOME in Michigan sitting before the fireplace with a hot cup of chocolate and my laptop playing GT. Can you tell I really want to move home,
11. Favorite season?
Spring, it's renewal time and I have summer and fall ahead of me.
12, Favorite movie?
Honeysuckle Rose staring Willie NelsonActor? Will Smith
Actress? Julia Roberts
Song? My Wish Came True by Elvis Presley and Behind Closed Doors by Charlie Rich. Both have a very special meaning to me.
13. If you could meet anyone (living and dead) in the world, who would it be?
Willie Nelson, we are of the same era and could discuss things that interest us both.
If there are any questions you would like to see asked in future interviews, please let us know.

Testimonial Of The Month |
Brought to you by: *GoldToken* Players |

Club Connections brought to you by bookfox
