As busy as May was for everyone, it is amazing that we held so many HTH tournaments!

to players during the initial testing and while we had a few problems here and there, the games played well and have come a long way from the early HTH days. This month we have a lovely HTH surprise coming...watch on beta to see just what it is!

I joined GoldToken Jan 29, 2002. I liked the site right away. It had the friendly atmosphere I was looking for. When I joined, the only game I had ever played was backgammon. I gradually tried the rest except for checkers and chess which I don't play even today.
who taught me how to edit a wiki. My hands would shake as I typed. I was so worried about messing up a wiki or even deleting it. With alexlee's help and alot of patience, I got the confidence I needed.

. It was her baby and when she got busy with duties at GoldToken, she asked me if I'd like 7th Heaven. She didn't have to ask me twice. It was the first club I owned. It's still a large club and very active today.

" You are so busy now" I told her that I hadn't ever set up a club from scratch all by myself and had one that was all MINE originally. We thought it would end up being a small club and not requiring much effort....LOL. We had 150 players join the first day! It's still a good size club and very active.

I don't know what I would do without GoldToken! I start and end the day here. My husband said he wished I got paid for all the days and hours I put in working at GoldToken cause if I did....We'd be rich!
I'm rich in friendship! I have 100's of friends at GoldToken. Many of them are close friends that I feel like I've known all my life!!!
It is now a few months since a drive was started to introduce the pleasure of head to head play to as many members as possible. Tournaments are now regularly taking place and are developing each time they are held. The tournaments held are for whist, chess and checkers and take place weekly at slightly varying times. The timescales for the matches has reduced so that each move must be made within a minute for whist.
The effect this has had is that the feel of sitting in a room with the cards in your hand is best replicate and the tactics of remembering the cards and predicting your opponents’ next move are best experienced. The tournaments are now extremely enjoyable and well attended.
Whist is the most popular but there are a good hard core of members who participate in the chess and checkers. Those games are not my “cup of tea” (showing my nationality there) as I am rubbish at the games. I am very impressed by those who play all three games without their brains exploding.
The pleasure that this form of gaming gives should be experienced by all members and I thoroughly recommend you all to join in the fun. There is a club available for all to join { Club } and whilst it is not necessary in order to play in the tournaments, it is a good idea to join as you will get all the information on when the tournaments are due to be held and it gives you an opportunity to give ideas on what you would like to improve the pleasure for all. Tournaments are only posted for entering 30 minutes before they start so getting the updates will ensure you don’t miss out.
Finally there is a feeling that more games need to be developed in the head to head rooms. Many are set up but are not as conducive to tournaments as those played. As a start a test was held last month playing Hearts. I was unable to enter myself as I missed the start time. The time limit was too long and the games took many hours to complete. However it was a start and it did get a lot of members into the hearts room and playing the game. I foresee this as a start of hearts tournaments and also the other whist variants. The time limit will be reduced and the format of the number of consecutive games can be considered.
I hope all members will at least look at the HTH games and join in the fun in the coming month. Also look into the { Club } in order to see what is going on and also make your suggestion on HTH play.
Club is one of the longest running clubs at GoldToken. We are looking for new members who like to play club vs club automatic tournaments, site automatic tournaments, or maybe you still have that itch for challenges that are still done with wikis, or you would like to chat on the boards.

I used to play at a different online turn-based game site, and while playing there I met
, who invited me to come over to GoldToken and play some games, too. I signed up in August 2003 as a guest, and never really understood what the fuss was about. It was just another game site to me then, and I was only able to play a few games.
. I kept saying, “Sure, someday I’ll get a membership and yours will be the first I join.” Well, after the 407th time he mentioned it to me, I told him that if I didn’t win the membership prize tournament I was currently playing in, I’d get a membership anyway and join his club. The rest is history!
I've enjoyed so many games and have met some amazing people here. I’ve met a couple of my GT friends in person, and this summer I’ll be meeting up with one again, as well as a few other GT friends, for a fun-filled weekend! Thank you to all my friends and fellow gamers, and to the GT staff and volunteers who make this such a fun (addictive) place to hang out.

It's been a great forum for keeping that connection as well as an opportunity to make new online friends. I in turn recommended it to a friend that moved out of state, and she recommended it, and so on... The people online at GT are friendly, funny, and good sports. What else could you ask for on a game site?
