Most Original Profile
November's contest of the month is Most Original Profile. The winner will receive two extra months on their current membership, or, if Guest, a two-month Silver membership.
If you know of an exceptional profile, or would like to submit your own, please post it on the Holiday Profile Contest DB, where everyone can check it out.
Note: Entries must be posted on the Holiday Profile Contest DB no later than Wednesday, November 28, 2018.
to Fian, who won with this entry:
Rules
Object of the Game
To reduce opponent to two cards or prevent opponent from making a valid exchange
Starting the Game
Gami is a game for 2 players, played with one pack of cards, but only Aces and the cards from 2 to 8 are included, from three suits only - Clubs, Diamonds, and Hearts. Spades are not included, meaning the game is played with a total of 24 cards. Determine who draws first. All 24 cards are placed on the table face up. This is called the Stockyard. Each player now makes 9 selections from the Stockyard, alternating one card at a time for each player, building both hands. A GAMI created at this time by adding a card selected from the Stockyard counts and the GAMI rule applies allowing the GAMI maker to select any card from the opponent’s hand and placing it in the Stockyard enlarging the Stockyard and diminishing the opponent’s hand by one card.
Playing the Game
In each turn, alternating each player exchanges one card from his or her hand, with one of the cards placed on the table called the Stockyard. The valid exchanges are limited - the exchange rules section below describes the valid combinations. A player who is unable to make a valid exchange loses the game. After one player completes his or her turn then the other player starts his or her turn.
If the newly selected up card from the stock together with any other two cards in the player's hand completes a GAMI (see below), the player can take any one card from his or her opponent's hand and places it face up in the Stockyard. This means that the Stockyard increases by one card, while the opponent has one card less. The number of cards in the players’ hands will decrease during the game and the number of cards in the Stockyard will increase.
Only the card picked up during an exchange can form a GAMI. An existing combination of cards in the hand does not constitute a GAMI, although the player can use it to make one by exchanging one of the three cards, then picking it up again during the next turn (if the opponent does not pick that card during his or her turn). The card captured from the opponent's hand after a GAMI is formed does not constitute a new GAMI and does not grant an additional capture.
A player who is reduced to two cards loses the game, as he or she is no longer able to complete a GAMI. Similarly, a player who is unable to make a valid exchange loses the game.
Exchange rules
Any card can be exchanged for an adjacent card of the same suits. Adjacent cards are cards whose value differs by 1, the value of Aces is considered to be 1. Additionally, Eights and Aces can be exchanged. For example, a Three of Hearts can be exchanged for either a Two of Hearts or a Four of Hearts. An Eight of Diamonds can be exchanged for a Seven of Diamonds or an Ace of Diamonds.
In addition to the above option, even-numbered cards can be exchanged for a card of the same value but of a suit of a different color. For example, a Four of Clubs can be exchanged for a red Four of Diamonds or a red Four of Hearts, in addition to Three of Clubs and Five of Clubs from the first rule. In addition to the Five of Diamonds and the Seven of Diamonds, a Six of Diamonds can be exchanged for a black Six of Clubs, but not a red Six of Hearts, as they both have the same color, red.
EXCEPTION
When a player is reduced to three cards that player may exchange any card in his or her hand with any card in the stockyard on each turn.
GAMI
A GAMI is one of the following combinations (in any order):
• Ace + Two + Three of a suit (i.e. Ace of Hearts; Two of Hearts; and Three of Hearts)
• Three + Four + Five of a suit
• Five + Six + Seven of a suit
• Seven + Eight + Ace of a suit (N.B. – the Ace can act as a 1 {Ace, 2, 3) or as a 9 {7, 8, Ace} to be part of a three card run)
• Twos of Hearts + Two of Diamonds + Two of Clubs
• Fours of Hearts + Four Diamonds + Four Clubs
• Sixes of Hearts + Six Diamonds + Six Clubs
• Eights of Hearts + Eight Diamonds + Eight Clubs

Stockyard Gami

For those that celebrate Thanksgiving this month, be sure to head on over to the Name Icons DB and find that icon that suits you!
Also, in Row 6, I have put in lots of animals that are not readily identifiable. lol I thought it would be fun to look at them and perhaps give them a name.
Check out the Icon Of The Day. I have been running a lot of the Pokemon Go characters that are just so cute.
Christmas Icons will be out at end of Thanksgiving, so be sure to tick the board so you know when they are available.
to all! Your GoldToken's Icon Fairy
