Several more thoughts on your game, since I already have 50 or so 54mm Cossacks figures and ships I'm going to do late 17th and/or early 18th naval Cossack wars. Not sure if you're familiar with that period of history, but I find it quite interesting.
Also, early 18th century American frontiersmen on barge type boats encountering Indians in canoes (Lewis & Clark). Ah, the endless possibilities!
