February was a fun month for GoldToken as we celebrated Valentine's Day with lots of contests and quizzes. I hope everyone had fun getting tokens for their profile and congrats to the players who managed to get every one of them!
I'd like to say a huge thank you to eliphont551 who organised the contests, made sure they ran smoothly and of course posted all of the tokens onto player's profiles...phew I'm tired just thinking about all that work!
Don't forget to keep an eye on TerryS's Contest Announcements this month as there will be 2 quizzes offering some amazing tokens to get for your profile and check out the Life Hacks board as the current hack topic is all about GoldToken and I'm looking forward to hearing lots of good hacks there!
One of the many things I love about Goldtoken is seeing how players decorate their profile page, it won't be a big surprise to learn that I decorate mine with pictures of my favourite movie star - Mr Fred Astaire! - but even adding some quotes to your profile can brighten it up and make it more personal so this month find some inspirational quotes or quotes from your favourite movies and add them to your profile - I look forward to reading them!
February's winner is: Classic Lasagna

▫️ Serves 8-10

▫️ 2 cloves garlic, chopped
▫️ 1 tsp garlic powder
▫️ 1 tbsp dried oregano
▫️ Salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
▫️ 1 (16-oz) container ricotta cheese or cottage cheese

4. Add the garlic, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the skillet; blend well and cook for 2 minutes more. Turn heat off and set aside
5. In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese (or ricotta cheese), eggs, and Parmesan cheese until thoroughly combined

I've been on GoldToken since 8 June 2005. My Pastor invited me to join and play some Chess. He usually won, but weirdly, I usually won against a guy that usually beat him. I eventually tried many of the Chess variations, loving most and swearing off a few ;;wink;; Dice Chess 10x10 is my favorite game - with quietman and I continuously serving up 6-game matches. We are very evenly matched so it's a lot of fun, but the real fun comes in our banter. I wasn't too surprised the other day when I noticed one of our games had 46 messages. The point is there's a lot more to be had on GoldToken than just playing the games - there are friendship opportunities every day. I admit I used to just offer the respectful Good luck to start a game and Good game to finish and that was that, but lately I've been trying to be friendlier. Everyone doesn't always care to engage in a conversation, but many do. Joining the clubs is a great way to get engaged too and they can fill your gamesheet. You'll find yourself often playing with the same people and that eventually opens the door to friendships. I currently belong to the The Chess4Fun Club, The CookBook Club (check out my recipes here), The Tan Schinn Holding Company Club, The Grabble Grabblers Club, and The hoot's hide-a-way Club. My favorite games are Dice Chess 10x10, Spades, and Grabble Race - I will never refuse an invite! I also enjoy (and their variations) Rummikub, Grabble, Chess, Dominos, Backgammon, Caveman, Cromagnum Holdem, and Domination (but my gosh the dice rolls are often brutal!!! jroyster

Enter GoldToken's Club Banner Contest! The winning banner will be given one full year to run! All entries will rotate with the other banners on top of player game sheets for 30 days from the day they are added to the system. The entry deadline is March 29th. A site-wide poll will be posted for voting on March 30th. To enter, post a new, never before seen 800x90 or 200x200 pixel club banner on the Club Presidents DB along with the club number.
All top banners must be exactly 90 pixels high so the page does not bump up and down as each page loads.
Having trouble creating your own banners or lack a photo editing program? Try one of the free services on the net that offers free banner creation. Free banners created using these systems can be incredible and very professional. Here are a couple links to sites that provide this service, however, you might wish to find others more suited to your taste and abilities by Googling "Free Banners". to JanuarySnowAngel who submitted this awesome holiday-themed story:
A Year in a Goldie's Life
Once upon a time in January, the New Year baby cried so loud he woke up Cupid before Valentine’s Day which made him shoot all of his arrows until his quiver was empty . But before he could go back to sleep , he realized one of his arrows hit the leprechaun’s pot of gold , knocking all the gold coins out over the park where the Easter eggs were hidden. Children were running for the gold coins and leaving the eggs, upsetting the Easter bunny who ran wildly in circles knocking over a row of that were all set to be planted for Arbor Day in May. Needless to say, Mother Nature saw it as a personal insult and decreed that Old Man Fourth could not let off his fireworks because it would further hinder new tree growth. Yet, the children continued to grow as they each started new grades that Fall just after Labor Day. With the retail workers only getting the one holiday to relax, they fell asleep on their jobs and didn’t get the Halloween decorations on the shelves in time so children could not go trick-or-treating. All that candy without mummers was bagged up until the Thanksgiving turkey that was pardoned last year decreed that Halloween candy be served up on Thanksgiving day , next to the plant-based meals, which in turn caused children to have upset tummies while writing their wish lists for Santa who decided to give up cookies until the New Year.

St. Patrick's day is getting closer so don't forget to drop by the Name Icons board to choose an icon. Just request them by column and number on the Icon Mania board.
Some options for you to choose from are { Image: www.goldtoken.com/pics/icon2303021509331.jpg } next to your name or { Image: www.goldtoken.com/pics/icon2207111334461.png } or choose the Icon Of The Day
The Icon Fairy loves to spread the love so if any new players or those who have never tried to wear one, would like to try one out next to their name, feel free to ask on the board or contact me by message. GoldToken's Icon Fairy There are plenty of non-holiday icons, too.
Platinum may save 9.
Gold may save 7.
Silver may now wear a larger icon but cannot have it put in their saves if they desire another icon after 30 days. It will return to circulation.
I'm sorry players are only allowed to adopt a new icon once every 30 days so everyone has a chance to have one that is "new" and unused before.

I also enjoy (and their variations) Rummikub, Grabble, Chess, Dominos, Backgammon, Caveman, Cromagnum Holdem, and Domination (but my gosh the dice rolls are often brutal!!! jroyster
Contest of the Month |
Best Club Banner
Then it is just a matter of uploading your banner to your account's Banner system.

We have a winner for the Best Goldie Story contest!
to JanuarySnowAngel who submitted this awesome holiday-themed story:

Icon Mania! |
Brought to you by: GoldToken's Icon Fairy |
